Clarebrook Classic

For a few years now, Ryan has been playing in the Clarebrook Classic, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament in Washington hosted by a friend of Ryan's. His team was going for a 3-peat this year and got very close, but unfortunately lost. You can't win 'em all! Jaxon was there in full support of his daddy's team as well as his other team, the Cubbies (I think they won 7-0 today)...
Here is a picture of Jax with his daddy in between games. I feel like he always has this look when we get our picture taken with him. I think he gets the head tilting from Wrigley.
My little stud. Let's just say the ladies were checking this guy out!
I know I said he was alert during my post last week, but he has really changed this week! He is starting to follow you and turn his head towards you when you talk to him. This morning I decided to put toys on his car seat (you can see his monkey in the picture above) and he played with it all through the grocery store. I am loving this phase, but was told today 4 months is even better. I can't wait!

So alert & Congrats to Daddy!

Third post of the day! I feel like I have a lot to catch up on. Jaxon is so alert now. He is also starting to smile and laugh more and more. He loves to play on his activity mat and look at the toys and himself in the mirror.

After playing, Jaxon was able to congratulate his daddy when he got home. Ryan had his State Track Meet this weekend. The team came home with a 7th and 2 - 8th place finishes. Congratulations!

First week at day care

This was my first week back to work. My breakdown came Sunday night when I had to put him to bed. I acted like I would never see Jax again. Ryan found me crying and was nice enough to help me get Jax ready for his first day of daycare. Ryan took him in the morning so that helped a lot. I immediately put pictures of us up at my desk so I could look at him all day. I waited until lunch to call. Of course he was doing great. Everyone loves him and he has been great. Each day I rush to pick him up. On his take home sheets that the daycare fills out, he always has good comments. On Friday, they commented that he was a "delight" to have. Of course he is! I'm so excited to have a 3 day weekend home with my baby.

Meanwhile, the new job is going great! I started full time at Corporate in Marketing on Monday. I think I'm really going to like my new role!

Bebe's Birthday

A week ago, we celebrated Bebe's birthday and Mother's Day. The day began with church at Grandma and Grandpa Davis' church. Jaxon was introduced to many of his great aunts and uncles. His great aunts and uncles, Keith and Tammy, as well as Mike and Pam were visiting from out of state so it was nice to see them and introduce our star. We were nervous about Jax getting hungry during the service and screaming. I'm proud to say the loud screaming didn't come from him. Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma holding him the whole time, he never made a peep!

Once we got to Grandpa and Bebe Samford's house, the party began.

Jaxon chose to dress up for all of the celebrations. Needless to say, his father loves this shirt!

After cooking lunch for her birthday/mother's day party, Bebe cleaned up. Sorry Bebe! At least Reese is helpful with pushing the buttons to start the dishwasher (ok, not helpful, but she can do it even when it has clean dishes in it).

After lunch, we journeyed to the lot where the new house has been mapped out. Getting ready for our walk:

The girls love going to the lot. In preparation, some trees had to be cut down. We thought this would be a good photo op, but the girls wanted to play with the tree shavings....

The architect (ok, Seth) and the owner discussing plans:

I loved this one of Reese. She was ready to head out and put herself back in the stroller.

When we got back, we tried to do a Bebe and grandkids pic. This is the best I have :)

Happy Birthday and Mother's Day Bebe!

Jaxon's First Cookout

Back in April, Jaxon had his first cookout at Bebe's house. Let me clarify that "Grandma" Samford has requested to be called "Bebe". Apparently she is still 25 and can't believe she is a Grandma.

We all got together for Uncle Seth's 30th Birthday. Ava and Reese love their cousin Jaxon and always look forward to seeing him. When we arrived, Ava and Reese had to immediatly run over to greet Jaxon. When we got there, the girls were outside playing with bubbles.

Ava playing with the bubble wand.

Reese showing off her new bangs...

All of the grandchildren playing on the floor with Bebe.
I have several pictures like this. Not sure what is happening here with Ava...

Since it was 100 degrees, Jaxon was forced to breakout the summer clothes. He loved his shorts and wanted to show off those adorable feet. Some felt it hadn't been this hot in mom and dad's house since the indoor cookout of 2006. Let's just say it was hot!

Mothers Day Gift

For Mothers Day, I asked for Jaxon to sleep 5 hours straight Saturday night. Needless to say, I did not receive my gift. When I woke up Sunday morning I was presented with a wonderful gift certificate to the spa. I also received a card with Jaxon recorded saying "I love you mommy!". I was so impressed that my 2 month old could talk. He even sounds like his dad ;) I spent the entire day with Jaxon. He was also well behaved at dinner with Ryan's family. He also got to see Great-Granny Hinrichsen and Great-Grandma Davis.

Who knew that Jaxon had another gift in store for his mommy. Sunday night he slept for 6 hours straight! When I woke up to Jaxon crying at 4 am I had to wake up Ryan to ask if I slept through him crying.... I was so proud of him. Granted Monday night, he only slept 3-4 hours at a time, but at least I know he can do it!
