8 months old, 4th tooth, sitting up, who is this guy?

So much has happened over the past month. Each day Jax will sit up longer and longer. And in the midst of the terrible cold Jax battled last week, we noticed a 4th tooth! I know what you are thinking...the 2nd tooth on top...no, a 3rd on the bottom. I don't know what is happening because that is not the normal order, but it does explain why he was going through so many of the terrible teething symptoms!

The cold is very minor now and Jaxon had to have his first prescription last week. We knew he was back to normal when he wouldn't stop talking last week. Even over the past week he has changed so much. You can tell he is really studying his toys and he constantly rolls around and talks. Friday I was driving Jaxon to his 2nd flu shot and he talked the whole way there! He did so good during his shot. I don't even know if I would say he cried, that is how short it was. Then he was back to smiling before we even left the dr. office. So big and strong and only 8 months old!

We hope these pictures will cheer up those of you that Jaxon infested (Grandma Davis and Daddy):

On to the crawling front. Jaxon has started getting on his knees this weekend. Could he be crawling by Christmas??? I tried to get a picture, but my little model would do this everytime I pointed the camera at him!

Happy Fall!

To celebrate fall, we wanted to get a few pictures of Jaxon sitting by himself in the leaves. As you can see below he wasn't too sure about the leaves or sitting up by himself!

Dad don't leave me!

What are these "leaf" things?
I don't like it! Somebody come get me!
After a few tries, he finally enjoyed himself!

Teething + Cold = No Fun, but Basketball = Tons of Fun!

We will start with the good...Jaxon attended Daddy's first basketball game of the season last night and loved it! We went early (about 4 pm) to help take care of the hospitality room at the tournament Ryan hosted at Central. Jaxon ate, played and took a nap before Daddy's teams started playing around 6:30. Once the games started we went into the gym and Grandpa Noel and Grandma Molly held Jaxon during the games. This kid loved watching the game, cheerleaders (of course!) and the crowd. He stayed up well past his bed time, but did really good. I hope this means he will like every game!

Now onto the bad...the poor guy has been working on this 3rd tooth for quite some time and it is still giving him trouble. To add to that, he officially has a cold. Last night we noticed a runny nose and once he woke up at 3 am screaming (keep in mind we also went to bed very late) we knew something was wrong. He has had a runny nose and a cough all day. He was a trooper this afternoon and made it through our family photo shoot. Poor guy! We had to do it though, it has been hard getting this scheduled!

I hope this is a short cold and that he gets to feeling better soon. Grandma Davis was nice enough to come over and watch Jax tonight while I attended Ryan's games. We have one more day of the tournament tomorrow so I hope he can make it through!

It's the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Jaxon has been working on this 3rd tooth for a few weeks. It broke through awhile ago, but is not all the way through yet so he is having a tough time. We have had 2 rough nights, daycare witnessed a 20 minute fit and the poor guy has had too many dirty diapers to count. During the evenings that Jaxon goes through the pain of teething, we turn it to his favorite show, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. As soon as we turn it on he calms down and we will even hear laughs when they sing the Mouska tools song or when Toodles comes around. Thank you Mickey Mouse!

And the first word is...

Da-Da!
We have been working with Jaxon on Ma-ma and Da-da for a little bit now. This past week, he finally started repeating us with "Da-da". It is so cute. Sometimes he repeats us with a normal voice, sometimes it is a whisper and sometimes he just moves his mouth with no sound. We love it! We are now working on his second word...sorry Grandpa Davis, it won't be "Papa", it will be Ma-ma or Pup-pup!

Its a bird, its a plane...

It's Superman!
Jax's first Halloween has come and gone, and our baby loved it! Jaxon has been training to become Superman for quite some time so he was ready to go...

It didn't take long before the flying began. I think the cape made it a lot more fun for him!
Our church hosts a Fall Harvest Party each year and the 3 of us attended this year. Jax loved watching the older kids play and even squeezed in a half hour nap during lunch.

After the Harvest Party, we all came home and took naps. Jaxon slept for 3 hours! We also missed the first 45 minutes of trick or treating which led to Ryan making out like a bandit since he got the leftovers!

A Halloween isn't complete without Franken-pug making his rounds. Look out Highview Estates, this is one scary looking monster! We are only kidding, Wrigley would only hurt you if you were a sock, bib, trash or anything else he shouldn't chew on!
