I can't believe 2009 has come and gone. We spent the 1st part of 2009 getting ready for our new bundle of joy. After Jaxon's arrival in March we started going nonstop and haven't slowed down since! Through Jax's first 9 months it has been so exciting to watch him just lay there sleeping, to smiling, laughing, cutting teeth, rolling over, army crawling, sitting up, eating and now pulling himself up! Sometimes we look at him thinking "Who is this child? Shouldn't you still be in your bouncer sleeping?" We seem to be getting a peak at toddler Davis, and we are still loving it...even the attitude. He is constantly breaking our barricades and leaving the living room. Our favorite part is when he stops and looks back to make sure we are still watching, smiles, then keeps going on his way. I'm not too worried about a new year's resolution of working out. Jaxon takes care of that for me and will continue as he learns to walk! We look forward to where 2010 will take us with our baby. By this time next year, I won't be able to call him our baby and he will be saying much more than "Da-da" and "Ma-ma". So long 2009 and welcome 2010!

Davis Family Christmas - Part 2
A few days after Christmas we got together to celebrate Christmas with Ryan's immediate family. It seemed to be all about Jax as he is the only little one! Enjoy it now Jax, next year Baby Leman will be fighting for attention! Luckily that will be one boy for each grandparent. I'm not sure what will happen with grandchild #3 comes around...Back to Christmas. Grandpa Noel spoiled Jax this Christmas by getting him a new pair of Chicago Cubs crocs. Yes you read that correctly...Chicago Cubs! Ok, so the tag looked to be in female handwriting and Grandpa Noel looked a bit surprised when Jaxon opened them, but it was still the perfect gift!

Jax loved his new Caterpillar dump truck with legos and his new walk and ride toy. He loves being pushed around as you can see below.
I don't think there was a Christmas event where Jaxon didn't eat wrapping paper. I know this is normal...but still!
Our family picture. I always forget we should be sitting. Ryan is just too tall!
Christmas night
Jaxon was so wound up he didn't want to go to bed so Daddy put together his new monstrous toy from Aunt Jessica's family. It is a Musical Jungle of fun. It plays music and comes with balls that swirl around. Jaxon loves it, but Mommy isn't the biggest fan of the size ;) Here is a picture of Jax helping get this thing put together:
Normally, Wrigley would be right there, but he was so worn out, he spent the evening in bed:
Thank you to everyone for a great Christmas!
Davis Family Christmas - Part 1
For lunch on Christmas, we headed over to Ryan's parents house to celebrate with the whole extended Davis clan. We had so much fun I apparently forgot to take very many pictures. Jaxon did manage to get another nap in when we got there and slept through lunch. He then provided the entertainment up in the living room!
Jax got all kinds of new clothes and a dancing Mickey from his cousins, Mark, Stacie & Peyton! He loves the Hot Dog song and now we can hear it all the time!

We had a great time catching up with all of the Davis family!
Christmas Morning - Samford style
After opening the gifts we took off for the Samford family Christmas. Bebe fixed a very nice breakfast that we quickly gobbled up so everyone could open up presents. Ava and Reese had already had their visit from Santa, but that wasn't enough...they wanted more! Who could blame them? There was a ton of gifts under the tree!
Getting ready for presents!

Opening gifts:

After a big morning, Jaxon was able to get a small nap in before heading out.
Wrigley had a great time this year! Not only were the girls excited to see him (they haven't been big fans in the past), Parker came too. We are still unclear on who left a special Christmas gift for Grandpa in the basement, but team Wrigley is blaming it on team Parker.
Christmas Morning - Santa Came!
Christmas morning we woke up to find Santa had made a stop at the Davis household. Jaxon got a lot of new toys that he loved! He was really asking for a new crib toy and he also asked for a driving toy that he played with at Ryan's cousin's house. I think he got everything he asked for! It was so much fun and we can't wait until next year when Santa comes again. Maybe Jax will be interested in actually opening the packages.

Christmas Eve
I definitely enjoyed Christmas much more this year. Last year I was 6 months pregnant, exhausted and worked all the way up until Christmas. This year, Jax was off of daycare the 2 days before Christmas. I decided to take the time off and we had a good time getting ready for Christmas.
Christmas Eve night we went to Davenport Elementary in Eureka to celebrate the Hinrichsen Christmas. We had a good time and enjoyed catching up with Ryan's family. When we weren't eating or singing, Jaxon had a blast with Aunt Erin in the gym. He loved crawling around on that very dirty gym floor. Oh well, at least he had a good time!

Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Grandpa Noel
Jaxon woke up excited to celebrate Christmas. Daycare was closed yesterday and today so all of us are at home celebrating! Tonight we will be heading to the Hinrichsen Christmas.
While we get ready for that, Jaxon was watching the Muppet's Christmas Carol, Mommy's favorite Christmas movie. Good news, he liked it!
We also want to wish Grandpa Noel a Happy Birthday!
James Family Christmas 2009
Sunday marked our first Christmas celebration at Great Grandma James' house. Everyone was in attendance and it was a fun filled day of rob your neighbor, wonderful food, our annual Christmas program and more!

When we first arrived Jaxon became a boy I didn't know. He was overwhelmed and very unsure of the situation. After a few minutes with Bebe, he was very comfortable. So much so that he talked through Cousin Adam's reading of Jesus' birth from the Bible:
We also heard from Bebe and Great Aunt Sandy who sang an Elvis Christmas song. Ava and Reese were supposed to sing a few songs, but instead watched us sing them! They at least had the jingle bells down.
After the program we opened presents. Jaxon got so much! A few to mention were his own digital camera from Cousins Travis and Kara so he can be like his Mommy and a music player from Great Grandma James. We opened them up that night and he started playing with them right away!
The roads looked a bit rough as we left Arrowsmith, but we were able to make a stop at Toys R Us. Jaxon wanted to pick out a few more gifts to ask Santa for. He did a good job picking things out! We then headed to Aunt K's house for a pizza party with the whole Davis clan. Big day, but lots of fun!
I love Aunt Erin & Basketball!
Jaxon's Aunt Erin is home from Jamaica for Christmas and Jax is loving it. He enjoys his time with Aunt Erin as she makes up for lost time and spoils him! We have also been attending Daddy's basketball games with Aunt Erin and Grandpa Noel. Jaxon loves it when we get there, but usually only makes it til half time before getting squirming and tired. I don't blame him though. We leave the house at his usual bedtime and I always have to wake him up when we get there. Poor guy!
Jaxon closely watching the game:
I guess the game was to intense for Jaxon to pose for a picture. At least Grandpa Noel and Aunt Erin are smiling!
Coach Davis doing some serious coaching:
9 Months Old
9 months old? Wow! When I think back to March of 2009, I was holding a baby that just loved to sit and cuddle with his Mommy. Now I have a squirmy little guy that sits up, army crawls (but could be full on crawling any day), speaks "baby talk", eats baby food + rolls (more to come later), claps, stands with support, just about pulls himself up and plays all day! So much has changed, but each month gets better and better. He still likes to cuddle at the end of the night when we are watching his shows as he falls asleep. The crawling is getting quicker and quicker. We have to keep a close eye on Jax and he does not like to be trapped in the living room! I'm sad to say Jaxon enjoys playing with Wrigley's toys. Gross!
We are still working through solid foods. Jaxon has been on the 2nd stage of food for awhile, but we are trying some other foods. He enjoys rice cakes and bitter biscuits, but if you give him puffs or freeze dried apples, he gags himself. I was worried he would never eat regular food, but he enjoys rolls for some odd reason...We will get there someday!
