Halloween 2010: A Day in the Life of a Gnome

As soon as we saw the garden gnome costume in the Target ad, we knew Jax had to have it! The only problem was...he wasn't a fan of the beard as you can see below. It was so nice out that we decided to go outside so the gnome could have some fun and get some work done...
Our attempt at the beard...but someone wouldn't have any part in it.
Getting ready to go down the slide. It almost seemed like this guy was more about play time than work time.
At the bottom of the slide...still having a good time
Playing in the big pile of leaves that took up half of our yard. Since the costume was made of felt, you will see a lot of leaves stuck to Jax throughout the pictures.
Thinking about getting to work as a gnome
Finally taking his post
But only for a second...then back to play time
Pacing around the yard with his garden dog, Wrigley
A Halloween is not complete without Wrigley dressing up. This year...a skeleton! Looks like he had some candy corn and dog bones
We finished up the night with passing out candy to our trick or treaters...and watching "Elmo Says Boo" which was Jaxon's favorite movie this fall. When asked what Elmo says, you will hear a quick reply, "Boo!" and of course he will always dance when you start singing the Count's favorite song, "Bones, Bones, Bones, Bones...Bones inside of you". We enjoyed Halloween, but we were ready to move onto the next Elmo movie for Christmas!

Daddy's Golden Birthday

Ryan turned 30 on October 30th this year. To celebrate the golden birthday, Ryan's sister Erin sent 30 golden balloons to Ryan's school. When Ryan got the call from the office they told him he needed some help so he thought it was the basketball shoe order for his team. Wrong! It was a beautiful display of gold taking up the front hallway. The embarrassed teacher had to walk them through the school back to the gym where he and one of his fellow teachers had to then shove them all in his car. I wish I could have been there. Once he was home and able to get them in the door, Jax loved them! He played and played and laughed all afternoon.
We followed this up with a birthday party at Gracie's. So many friends and family came, it was a great time! Thanks to all that came out and celebrated Ryan entering the old age club :) I can say that since I still have 3 years! I had to show off this awesome cake we had made for the celebration. It looked so neat we hated to cut it!

Jax and Colt Playtime

We are back from a long delay! Last month Colt came over for a little playtime with Jax. We had so much fun!

Ryan and I were quickly reminded of how much work a little guy is! Colt kept us busy with his napping schedule, a bath and his bottle! Jax was nice enough to help out by placing Colt's pacifier back in his mouth when it fell out. How sweet!
