Sip n’ See

Aunt Jessica and Bebe hosted a lovely sip n’ see to debut Kensley! We enjoyed an afternoon of sipping, snacking, talking and watching every move Kensley made!

The food was wonderful! The peanut butter cup cupcakes were so good!

Ava and Reese enjoyed entertaining friends and family…

I love this one. Bebe tries to buy boy toys, but when you grow up around Ava and Reese, girly things get in the way! At least it matches Bebe’s shirt.

We enjoyed visiting with everyone and showing off Kensley. Thanks to all who stopped by and thanks to our lovely hosts!

One Month Old

Kensley continued to grow over the summer, but managed to stay relatively small in the beginning…more to come on that later!

Kensley did like to cross her eyes a little bit. I’ll just post one baby girl! You are so funny!

4th of July 2011

When Ryan first mentioned going up to visit his family in Wisconsin for the 4th of July, I asked “Are you kidding me? With a newborn?” I was responded to with a quick “Yeah, what is wrong with that?” I thought we could wait and decide after the baby was born. Kensley was such a good baby that we decided to take on the challenge and it was a success!

Ryan’s Aunt Sharon and Uncle Mike host us with food and fun while we stay at Cousin Tom’s place. It is always a good time since their whole family comes in for the festivities.

We tried to stay out of the way and headed over to the zoo. Jax and Daddy enjoyed riding the train and Jax also enjoyed the new playground they added in addition to all of those crazy animals!

We enjoyed a nice breakfast and lunch while watching the parade outside of the Best house.

Sweet little Hadley tried to get some crackers, but Jax wasn’t interested in sharing.

Jax playing tractor on Daddy while Kensley eats. She was still so little, but loved her 4th of July sundress.

Now, for the real reason Jax attends other than seeing family…the bouncy house!

Then onto a wonderful rendition of Twinkle Twinkle with a stick for a microphone.

Great times had by all. Thanks for hosting us Best family! Hope you invite us back next year with another toddler running around!

Jax + Kenzie = Best Friends???

Jax asked…no…demanded that Kenzie lay next to him on the couch one morning. I couldn’t resist the photo op. Little did I know how much Kensley was enjoying herself until I saw this pic!

I hope they always stay this close!

An Afternoon at the Park

My maternity leave was so much better timed with Kensley. We had nice weather and Ryan was home too! We enjoyed a nice afternoon up at the lake. It is so nice being back in Eureka and enjoying the park so close.

It was a bit chilly so Kenzie mostly stayed snuggled up in her car seat, but I managed to sneak in a quick pic.

Lovin the swing!

Ryan and I loved this part. Jax made friends with another park visitor and begin playing drums with some sticks they found. Jax loves to pick up sticks and make piles, play drums, sword fights, etc so he really enjoyed himself.

Happy Father’s Day Daddy!

Well, we tried. Poor Kensley just wanted to be held, not pose for a picture! Ava and Reese tried to help give Ryan a break by feeding Kensley below. Ava is such a big helper!

The First Few Weeks

The first few weeks with Kensley were wonderful, chaotic, stressful and so much fun! We enjoyed many visitors and settling into life with 2 children!

As most of you know with newborns, there is a lot of sleeping in the beginning. Not only did this girl like to sleep well during the night, she also liked her naps during the day!

Finally, she was awake and so cute as she started figuring things out…

But shortly went back to looking like a sleeping angel.

IMG_2979U

This angel kept us busy. As you can see with the tipped over box of toys, he had a lot of fun with all of us home!

IMG_2981

Mamaw has been a big help with staying with us a few nights with both kids. Jax loved snuggling up and watching his shows.

Kensley’s Newborn Photo Shoot at Home

After settling in, we took advantage of the summer weather and I took some pictures outside our house. Kensley was such a doll and so easy to photograph! We got a little interrupted when Bebe and the landscaper stopped by to steal a bush, but then we got back to business.

One of the nice parts of doing the pictures was getting to use props from the family. This scale was an old nursery scale.

This chair was Grandma Samford’s and the roses behind Kensley were given to my parents when Grandpa Samford passed away.
