An Artist in the Making

Now that Jaxon is in the toddler room, he has been bringing home his artwork. I love it! As you can see, he is really talented! He seems to be expressing himself through finger painting and crayons right now. Enjoy these works of art!

Father's Day 2010

This year marked our second Father's Day for Ryan and Jaxon made it so special! He presented daddy with a homemade card (about sports), key chain and picture frame he made at daycare. We then followed it up with a Chicago Cubs Mr. Potato Head and a hammock. Ryan's been dreaming of a hammock for years and he has already been out using it plenty this week! For Father's Day we went over to see Papaw Davis for dinner. Luckily we found the perfect attire for the event...
Ryan's initials spell RAD so it was the perfect shirt. I'm also lucky enough to have his old plates on my car "RAD 1980". I often find myself explaining that these are my husband's initials and that I don't just run around using the word "rad".
Colton was adorable as always. He performed well for me as he prepared a gift for his daddy. Happy first Father's Day Adam!

I just had to throw this one in there. Jaxon is such a serious helper!
What a great Father's Day!

First day in the toddler room

Jaxon spent his first full day in the toddler room today at daycare. He has been transitioning for about a week. I thought I would have a hard time with it, but he is clearly ready to be with the big kids! So far, he has begun successfully eating at the kiddy table in a chair, taken a nap pacifier free, made crafts and sat on the potty! I was most worried about the pacifier since he isn't allowed to have it in the toddler room, however, he has done great without it. Now...if only we can get rid of it a night! The whole potty thing through me for a loop. I got to the bottom of it today. Jaxon has been watching other kids go on the potty so the teachers let him check it out. He even went one time, but it was right after nap time so he didn't really do it on purpose. I'm sure we still have another year at least before potty training begins, but who knows???

Jaxon will miss his teacher, Miss Dee, the most, but he has his friend Abby to play with since she is already over there. I hear they are quite chummy. In case you were wondering, this isn't the girl that Jaxi sucked on her toes...that is Maddie....she should be joining him soon! Poor Abby, I saw some pictures a few weeks ago that looked like Jaxon was hogging all the toys when she was sitting by him. We'll see how he does when he is the low man on the totem pole.

On to Wrigley...poor guy had knee surgery on Tuesday. He had patella luxation. Don't ask for the details, it sounded painful. He came home Wednesday with 3 medications and a large incision. He doesn't seem to be in too much pain, but doesn't hardly put weight on his knee. So far, Jaxon hasn't tormented him too much. Before the surgery Jaxon would ignore the bum knee and jump on Wrigley. It is going to be a long 2 month recovery with Jaxi around!

First swim of the year!

Since Daddy left this afternoon for a few days, Jaxi and I went over to Grandpa & Bebe's house for a pool party! I didn't know how Jaxon would react since he hadn't been in a pool since last summer. Maybe it is a boy thing, but he had no fear. Not only did he love the pool, he even walked through the Go Diego Go sprinkle we had going!
What a cutie. He would get in and out of the pool all by himself. He only went under once while diving in, but didn't even care.
Reese and Ava picked out the perfect pool!
Jaxon sat on the side and bounced like it was some sort of ride. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff.

It was a perfect afternoon. As you can imagine, Jaxon was exhausted and fell asleep within the first 5 minutes of the ride home. We are ready for the next pool party!

Hot Dog Dance

I captured Jaxon watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and doing his version of the Hot Dog Dance :)

Walking like a pro

Jaxon has been walking for a month or 2 now, but it is so hard to get it captured on camera. Out of about 10 pictures, I was able to get 2 clear shots. At this point, he walks like he has been doing it forever....ok, not that good, but he walks all around the house with no problems!
He is also bending down and picking things up with no problems. He doesn't even need anything around to pull himself up.
But then there are moments like this where I still see my sweet little baby. Jaxi climbed into his toy box all by himself and started reading his book.

A little video of Jaxon walking

What a big boy! I already see signs of running as he gets more comfortable. Can't wait to see what he is like in the next month or two!

Future SNL Star?

One morning, Jaxon started mimicking a Saturday Night Live skit. I included the link to the skit and the video of Jax. See it for yourselves!
